Physician Spotlight Interview: Dr. Jose A. Aguirre

What inspired you to go into medicine?

I would say an endless fascination with the complexity of life. My first inspiration came from  studying the life sciences. That and the satisfaction of being of service to others and having a positive impact on their lives.

What aspect/s of practicing medicine today do you enjoy the most? What do you find most challenging?

I relish the interaction with my patients. I always enjoy learning about their lives and how I might be able to help them with the challenges that they face. The most challenging thing of it all is limited in how we are able to help them.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Building a successful business and having created dozens of jobs for fantastic people in my community.

In which therapeutic areas or for which conditions would you like to see more research being done?

I would think Alzheimer's and Cancer research. These are two disease states that take such a toll on patients and their families. Any advance that we make in the treatment of these two disease states has a huge impact on the quality of life of patients that are susceptible or suffer from these ailments.

What was compelling to you about partnering with SiteRx?

Their affiliation with centers of excellence, tenured clinical partners, and pharmaceutical companies that participate in the study of the same ailments I described in the last question.

How would you describe your experience with SiteRx to date?

Working with SiteRx has been a great experience. Their impressive technology enables us to quickly screen for patients that are potentially susceptible to the disease states being studied.

SitRx's compassionate, collaborative, and caring staff have quickly become an extension of our practice.

How do you educate your staff about clinical research and your partnership with SiteRx?

SiteRx has made that easy by providing a detailed and concise training program.

How do you communicate with your patients about the same?

We communicate it as a natural extension of the cutting-edge patient care that we, at Ultra Medical, deliver to our patients every day.

If another physician was thinking about partnering with SiteRx, what would you tell them?

I would tell them that if they want to offer their patients with complex and sometimes grave medical conditions a measure of hope in better understanding and managing those conditions they should consider what SiteRx has to offer.
